Greater Richmond Area |

So what makes the Greater Richmond area special? Foremost,
there is the history, which is everywhere. You know the names
– Pocahontas, John Smith, Washington, Jefferson, Grant, Lee
and so many more.
At almost every street corner and crossroad, there is a
reminder, not only of Virginia’s proud past but the nation’s
history as well. Because of the area’s historic preservation,
it is only natural that Richmond has a slower and less
frenzied pace.
While rooted in the past, the Richmond area is
surprisingly progressive. As the northern most “right to
work” state, Virginia and its capital, Richmond, is a
haven for business development. 50% of the nation's
consumers and 65% of the nation’s manufacturing operations
are within 750 miles of Greater Richmond. State and local
governments are pro-business and dedicated to reasonable
taxes, which produce superior services and proper
infrastructure. Richmond has rush minutes, not hours.
When work is done, a host of museums, collegiate and
professional sports, a full array of performing arts
(symphony, opera, ballet, and numerous theater groups)
plus frequent area festivals make Greater Richmond a truly
great place to live. Since Richmond is transected by 2
interstates (I-64 and I-95), the beauty, history and
culture of both Virginia and the U.S. are also close at
hand. Both the mountains and the shore are within a 2-hour
drive, while our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C., is
less than 100 miles away.
Housing options within the Greater Richmond area are truly
lifestyle choices. With urban, suburban, and rural
options, all within an easy compute, it’s your housing
“wants” that are satisfied, not just your “needs.” Want
the bustle of a city complete with nightlife; then
consider the
City of Richmond. More of a soccer mom, then the
counties of
Chesterfield, Henrico and parts of Hanover
will delight you. Need open spaces; then Hanover and
Goochland counties, along with several other rural
counties, will absolutely thrill you.
Southern hospitality is not just a buzzword in Greater
Richmond; it is a fact of life. You experience that
politeness and civility daily, whether it is shopping,
dining, or just running your normal errands. Maybe it’s
the climate that makes Richmonders so happy – little
snowfall, yet 4 distinct seasons. Whatever the reason, the
Greater Richmond area is sure to please!
